Talk about a pain in the —– knee!

It’s hard to tell, since I spend most of mornings sitting down, but I hurt my knee.  I was taking part in the Dragon Boat races, when I decided to race from the river to our tent.  Thinking I was still 23, I hurdled a small wall along the way.  I evidently landed the wrong way, because the next day, my left knee was about the size of a grapefruit.

I followed advise of some very wise and aged people, but  after 10 days, it was no better.  So I decided it was time to go to the doctor.  I have found a great orthopedic surgeon in Shreveport.  But that still doesn’t help with the fact that I did something so stupid and now I’m paying for it.

Anyways, the last two weeks have been filled with vocabulary I have never heard of or experienced in my life.  Meniscus? MRI?  Surgery?  Let’s just say these are words I like to avoid.

Today should be a tell all day.  After undergoing x-rays, an MRI and poking and prodding by the doctor and his p.a., I will learn my next step.  I just hope I don’t make another mis-step and blow out my right knee.
