Okay, maybe  this is God’s way of telling me, no more fast food.  But two things happened this weekend, that has me debating maybe  it’s time to give up fast food.

After Centaur’s float loading party, I was starving.  So I decided to stop at Burger King on Youree Drive on my way home.  It was around 8:30PM, not that late.  I pull up to the order box, and tell the faceless server that I wanted a chicken sandwich.  Her response, sorry sir, we’re out of chicken.  That hit me as kind of odd, a fast food restaurant out of chicken.  Anyways, I quickly changed my order to a Whopper.  No biggie right? Wrong!  The server told me “The Home of the Whopper” was out of Whopper meat!  How can a fast food restaurant that prides itself on its Whopper be out of meat for it’s signature burger!  Talk about having it your way!

Now it’s Monday morning, and I figured I would be a nice guy and stop at McDonald’s and pick up coffee for the gang.  So around 4:15AM I pull into the Mickey D’s on Shreveport-Barksdale Highway.  The sign says open 24 hours,  So I pull up to the order board and again hear the voice of a faceless server, “Our system is down for the next 20 minutes.”  I’m sorry, does your sign say open 24 hours or open 23 hours and 40 minutes.  I’m not loving it!

I guess I’ll get back into the habit of some good ole homecooking.
