What to do?
For Christians around the world, today marks the beginning of Lent. Since I’m catholic, there are certain traditions that we follow.
The biggie is no meat on Ash Wednesday and Fridays during Lent.
But many Christians will try to give up something during this 40 day period. Giving up, giving up things is not an option. What would we do for New Years? So I tried to think, what could I give up? I finally came to the realization that it would not be material. I’ve already limited my intake of fast food. I’m working out every day and watching what I eat.
So for Lent, I have vowed to no longer jump to any conclusions. I have tried to live by the unwritten rule that “the truth lies somewhere in the middle” But emotions sometimes, often times, gets the better of me. So for the next 40 days I will listen to all arguments, concerns and complaints, but instead of jumping to a conclusion, I will get all of the details.
We’ll see what happens.
