What Do You Suggest?

I’m on a kick again, wanting a pet.
I’ve changed my mind more times than I change my socks. I want one. I don’t want one. I want a dog. I want a cat. I want a horse. I want an elephant. Yes an elephant!
I got this message from my friend Denise who is now in Thailand: Ed darling, I’m still in search for a baby elephant for you. All the ones, I have found, the mom’s are reluctant to give up the kid!!
Before she left for her trip, she asked what did I want her to bring me back. I said an elephant! Especially if it can paint. I have it figured out, I’ll put in an elephant door in the back of the house so it can come and go as it pleases. I think I’ll have to check with the city to make sure I’m properly zoned. Don’t want to break the law!
But this morning, as I was watching a documentary on penguins, I changed my mind again. I think I want a penguin. It’s smaller. I can keep the air conditioning turned down so it will feel like home, and it can swim in my bathtub.
This is a far cry from my first choice of a panda. It sounded like a great idea, until I started looking at bamboo floors for my house. Don’t need an animal that’s going to eat the floor!
Some say my house is big enough for me and a goldfish. I don’t know, a goldfish?
