Now, another Saints-ism is coming under fire. In the days leading up to the Super Bowl, the phrase “Finish Strong” became the motto of the Who Dat nation.

Now Reebok is being sued by the company, Finish Strong LLC over copyright infringement.

I guess we’re lucky they didn’t choose the phrase, “Finish Stong… Just Do It.. You Could Have Had A V-8″

At one time, when two dogs of different breeds mated, the resulting puppies were called mongrels. Those days appear to be gone.

A friend of mine recently bought a Yorkie-Bishon Frise mix. I’m not sure if you call it a Borkie or a Yishon or what. That doesn’t matter. What does matter is he paid quite a bit for his little “Angel”.

The dog you see here is a Morkie. That’s a Yorkie-Maltese mix. At an auction I attended the other night, a morkie sold for $6,000. No, I didn’t buy it.

I think I want a German Shepherd - Old English Sheepdog - St. Bernard mix. I guess I could call it a St. Germenglish Shepdog.

There are scenes that will forever be burned into my memory. The gridlock traffic and dancing in the streets after the win. And then there was the victory parade. I have never seen so many people turn out, just for a chance to say thank you. And who could forget Sean Peyton taking off his hat and kissing the crowd in appreciation of their support.

When I finally made it back to Shreveport and reality, Mother Nature came calling. Who would have thought Shreveport could look so beautiful in the dead of winter. It was incredible watching kids and adults having fun in the snow.

This whole week was bookended with Mardi Gras parades. Once again, congratulations Centaur, Gemini and Highland. You made Shreveport very proud.

Fat Tuesday is tomorrow and then the Lenten Season. I think I’m ready for some peace and quiet!

For me, today is a very sad day. It was one year ago that my dad passed away after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimers and a very short battle with cancer. I can’t believe that a year has passed.

But I met a remarkable woman today, who was able to bring a smile to my face. Her name is Miss Lizzie Johnson. That’s her in the picture. Today is her 103rd birthday!

The only thing Miss Lizzie says she can no longer do is dance. She says her legs just don’t work the same way anymore. But that’s the only thing slowing her down.

But what made me smile was her outlook on life. She says she never complains, because it doesn’t do any good.

Those are words to live by.

There are some things in life that tend to mark a milestone. Do you remember getting your drivers’ license? How about graduating from high school? college? Your first real job? Getting married? The birth of your first child?

But sometimes there are things that happen throughout the course of life that we would rather forget. In November, my high school class held it’s 25th reunion. It was a fun time catching up with everyone. It was shortly after that I remarked our class had not lost anyone in the last quarter century.

Little did I know that would change just two months later. A former classmate posted on Facebook that one of our classmates had died. It was a sudden death, not by accident, but possibly a blood clot. She leaves behind just a daughter. I knew her, but hadn’t seen her or spoken to her in years. She was supposed to attend the reunion, but never made it.

It just goes to show how precious life is, and that we should never take any one or any day for granted.
