Sometimes when you’re about to give up on people, this happens.

Yesterday was Father’s Day. For me though, it was just another day. As many of you know, my Dad passed away in January. This has been a year of adjustments for me and my family. First came Easter, then my birthday, now Father’s Day.

As I did my best not to think about the day, my cell phone was very busy. I got a number of phone calls from my friends all checking in on me. They knew this was my first Father’s Day without Dad and they just wanted to check in.

This is something I would never think of doing myself. But I just wanted to say thank you to those who checked in on me and those who just thought of my family.

From now on, I plan on picking up the phone and making that same phone call. Because you never know how someone is feeling on the inside.
